In The Guillotine, Randy "Red" Kendrick recounts a harrowing, unbelievable, and heartbreaking crisis he lived through as a young man fresh out of high school. A new job introduces Red to a machine fittingly named The Guillotine, a mechanical device used to cut plastic instead of necks. An unfortunate workplace accident unleashes a black curse and Red, his girlfriend, and his co-workers find themselves battling an unstoppable force.

The Guillotine sat in the Story Idea Waiting Room for over twenty-years before I called it back to take a closer look. I was unsure if it would make the cut but I really took to the characters. I enjoyed the surprise relationship between Red and Nita. Parts of this story gave me quite the feels during the writing process, particularly the first draft when it was new and fresh. Hopefully, you feel the good and the bad as much as I did.
